Meet the Team

Dialis E. Camacho, LM, CPM
Founder

Dialis E Camacho Santiago, certified professional midwife and licensed in the state of Florida, and founder of Nacer Midwifery.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dialis is the mother of three children, Camille aged 20, Diego aged 16, and Francisco aged 4, all born in the warmth of her home in PR.

Her passion for what is now her work and profession as a midwife began after the loss of her firstborn in 2001. It was then that she decided to begin her studies in everything related to natural and humanized childbirth under the guidance of midwife Rita Aparicio, who has been her mentor ever since. That same year she began working as a doula and later trained as a Perinatal Educator, Breastfeeding Educator, and Leader of La Leche League by 2006.

Later, in 2011, she moved to the state of Florida with the intention of formalizing her studies as a professional midwife at FTSM (Florida Traditional School of Midwifery) in Gainesville, FL. There, she was the only Hispanic accepted in a group of over 50 students, among which 9 completed the degree and Dialis was one of them.

Since 2015, she has practiced as a licensed midwife in Florida, focusing mainly on Hispanic families seeking to identify with someone who speaks their language and can understand and respect their culture.

In the short term, her goal remains to continue providing accessible prenatal and postpartum care for all families, regardless of their economic status, country of origin, or immigration status. She is currently taking the first steps to establish a birthing center accessible to all. Dialis understands that pregnancy and childbirth are biological and natural processes of the human body, and therefore should not be treated or considered as illnesses requiring traditional medical intervention. She seeks to honor the nature of the body by respecting the time and pace at which each woman labors. At the same time, she firmly believes that every woman should choose what she believes is best for her regarding the place and manner in which she wants her baby to be born.

To date, more than 400 babies have been born into Dialis's hands, and thousands of women and families have been empowered on issues related to midwifery, natural childbirth after cesarean section, breastfeeding, and more.

All births attended by Dialis have met the required standards by law and above all, carried out in a respectful manner in the peace and tranquility of the home, and with the love of her family.
